Pastor Joe Jackson, Jr. grew up the son of a preacher/pastor who was the son of a lay preacher. He counts himself blessed to have a heritage of God-fearing Pentecostals who have left a rich legacy to follow. He says, “As a result of my heritage and my personal spiritual journey, I am unashamedly Pentecostal through and through. I still believe that not only our salvation experience, but being filled daily with the strength and power of the Holy Spirit is vital to our mission as believers.”
Pastor Jackson and his wife Tammie have four daughters, Millicent Garrett, Meagan Waldo, Morgan Bittengle and Melainie Jackson. They are enjoying five incredible grandchildren, Travis and Jaxon Garrett and Breanna, Isaiah, and Levi “LJ” Waldo, which they lovingly refer to as the “littles”. They consider it a great blessing that they all live in and around Little Rock so they can see them often.
He was first licensed to preach with the Assemblies of God while in Bible school in Texas. Immediately upon graduation he took an Associate Minister position at a church in Iowa where he met his wife Tammie. From Iowa they moved to Arkansas to serve as Youth and Music Director at a church in Little Rock. It was during that tenure he was ordained with Assemblies of God . After five years they moved to Tulsa to serve a church there as Youth Minister and then finally back to Little Rock in 1991 to serve as pastor of First Assembly. The church was suffering from a series of broken relationships and a worn down building, so they decided a new start was in order. Selling the property they moved into temporary facility and began a two year building program which brought them to their current location. Pastor Jackson led them through the building program and moving into the current location. After being in that location for eighteen years he was led to combine the congregations with Praise Assembly, under the pastorate of Rev. Bob Perry. In September of 2015, the two congregations came together and formed a greater church family which is now called The Church at Wellington. He says it is a privilege to work alongside of Pastor Perry to lead this great church.”
Pastor Jackson has earned an Associate degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s degree in Bible and a Master of Science degree in Practical Theology. He is quick to point out that the purpose of those degrees only serves to assist him in ministry to the local church and to the community.
Pastor Jackson has stated that, “As a result of my rich heritage and my personal calling into ministry my overall mission is to build up a generation of spiritual warriors for the sake of the Kingdom of God.”
Pastor Bob W. Perry is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God. He was first credentialed with the Louisiana District Assemblies of God and in 1968 he was ordained with the South Carolina District. He grew up in a pastor’s home and not only learned, but experienced, ministry.

Throughout his years of ministry he has served on the staff of two churches and has pastored in South Carolina and Arkansas. Further, he served as Assistant Youth Director of the South Carolina District and Director of the Christian Education and Men’s Ministries Departments of the Arkansas District. As the District Christian Education director, he led four weeks of kids camps each summer, taught Sunday School training courses and workshops throughout the state, led Junior Bible Quiz and conducted marriage retreats. As Men’s Ministries director he conducted the annual Men’s Retreat at the AR District Campgrounds and Light For The Lost banquets for each section of the state in addition to leading the Royal Rangers program. He has also served as an executive presbyter, sectional presbyter and on numerous committees to assist in conducting the business of the local church and district. He pastored the congregation of Praise Assembly, formerly known as Cloverdale Assembly, for 29 years.
In addition to spending time with his family, his hobby is cars of all kinds, particularly restoration of vintage and antique cars. His artistic flair is found on many vehicles around the country.
In September 2015, Pastor Perry and the congregation of Praise was invited and welcomed into the ministry of Wellington Village Assembly of God. The blended congregation under the new name of The Church at Wellington is led by Pastor Joe Jackson, Jr. and Pastor Bob Perry.
In summary, the heartbeat of this pastor is the local church. Pastor Perry brings a rich heritage of ministry to the church and a genuine love of people. His Biblical preaching and teaching meets people where they are.
