Go Forward – Fast 2016 – Day 9

Day 9 – Chased by Chariots – Exodus 14:6-7

6 So he made ready his chariot and took his people with him.

7 Also, he took six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt with captains over every one of them.

Well here is where the story gets really interesting. The Pharaoh has had his mind changed and now wants his servants back. How can that be accomplished – by circling the wagons! Well actually by calling for all the chariots in the kingdom and chasing those pesky runaways down in the desert, bring them back to Egypt’s sunny shores and get on with building his legacy.

His tactic we find here in this scripture is the same plan that your enemy has for you. He uses fear and intimidation to melt the hearts of the followers of Jehovah or those who have turned their back on him and towards HIM! You just happen to be in the people group that satan hates. That is when the reality comes in, your adversary has a formidable attack force, all of which are getting ready to come after you.

There is no wrong in admitting that the enemy is coming after you. That is just a fact of Christian life. You have abandoned him for a relationship with Jesus and satan is pretty mad about it. But there is no cause for alarm. Briefly here is the proper response when the enemy is coming:

1) Sanctify yourself – prepare your spirit by cleaning out anything that would hinder you in your fight.

2) Put on your armor – protect yourself with the equipment which God has provided for you, specifically put on the whole armor of God so you will be able to stand when the battle starts.

3) Be careful where you take your stand – make sure your foundation is firmly set on the Solid Rock which is Jesus – your dependence is set totally upon Him.

4) Fight – the only offensive weapon you will need to fight these battles is the Word of God. You must read it, study it, learn it, and wield it. Get to know the Bible well and through the guidance of Holy Spirit use it to send the enemy running. That is what Jesus used when satan tempted Him while fasting – it seemed to work quite well!
