Send Me: Prayer & Fasting – Day 13 – 1-21-2017

Day 13 – Saturday 1/21 – Be Observant – look to what He is showing you

John 4:27-38
27 And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?” 28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him. 31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” 33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?” 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

OK, back to the process of hearing from God. Trusting that you enjoyed your day of quietness before Him it is now time to get back to growing. Our theme for today is to “Be Observant.” So many times we are looking and listening so hard for grand plans and instructions that we fail to see the things which are happening around us. We miss the individual beside us who is in need of encouragement while we are asking for Holy Spirit to show us someone to minister to.
Today in this passage, Jesus teaches a lesson in looking around for opportunities which have been guided by the Spirit but may have escaped our observation. So the lesson for you today is to stop asking just long enough to take a good look at the world around you. Look at the individuals in your proximity. Is Holy Spirit showing you a need you can meet? Listen to the conversations in front of you and behind you as you wait in line at the store. Without being creepy, is there an opportunity for you to join in and be a witness of God’s great power? Truly the harvest is all around you and you must listen to the everyday, normal whisperings of the Holy Spirit to see you ministry opportunities.
A huge part of hearing s simply quieting yourself to listen. Today listen with your ears, eyes and heart. It just might be that God is trying to communicate with you through the sights and sounds of the things around you.
