Send Me: Prayer & Fasting – Day 17 – 1-25-2017
Day 17 – Wednesday 1/25 – Send me to: Reflect Your love
31 So, when he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him immediately. 33 Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Many years ago, there was a children’s program on television called, Romper Room. Kind of a silly name, but it was a very popular show amongst the kiddies. During the show the host, Mrs. Sherri, would look into her “Magic Mirror” and “see” the children who were watching at home. My wife, Tammie, as a child, would sit in from of the television and wave her hands, sometimes jumping up and down to try to get Mrs. Sherri to see her and call her name – she never heard her name. At some point she came to a realization that the magic mirror really did not allow Mrs. Sherri to see those who were watching from home. A sad day indeed!
This story is included as an example of reflection. According to the Word for today, our instructions are to reflect the love of God, just as Jesus has displayed to us. Some mirrors do a great job of reflecting and some not so much, like the magic mirror. For you the question is what kind of reflection are you? As you go through your day take note of how you reflect Jesus to others. Your response to His love for you should naturally be one of reflected love for others. Spend time today asking God how you can be a great reflection of Him throughout your day.
